As part of the International Labour Organization  response to the crisis in Lebanon, the ILO Arab States worked on enhancing living conditions in Dekwaneh Technical Institute for displaced families. This initiative by the ILO’s Employment Intensive Infrastructure Programme (EIIP) was funded by the German Government through KfW  Development Bank, and through internal ILO funds.

In collaboration with sector coordination groups and partners, the ILO implemented key activities at the Dekwaneh Technical Institute, aligning efforts with other organizations and advancing the ILO's mission. Activities included:

1- Shelter Improvements: the ILO has upgraded collective shelters with fire-rated partitions for private family spaces, along with fire safety measures and improved sanitation facilities.

2- Building Rehabilitation: In preparation for winter, the ILO repaired windows, doors, and the heating system, increasing protection from harsh weather and enhancing resident safety and well-being.

3- Short-Term Employment: Short-Term job creation emphasize decent work principles and effective inclusion, monitored closely by the EIIP team.

Through these focused actions, ILO EIIP isn't just meeting immediate needs at Dekwaneh Technical Institute but also elevating overall quality of life and safety for displaced families, nurturing resilience and well-being in challenging times.
